Position Details
- Type: Employee, full-time.
- Location: WFH with offices in Cleveland, OH, and Houston, TX, available when needed.
- Reporting: Reports to Process Optimization Manager.
- Collaborating: eSimualtion Process Optimization Team and S/W Development Team.
Job Duties
- Build detailed process and economic models to optimize natural gas processing plants using eSimulation’s equation-based modeling and optimization technology.
- Configure standard, web-based user interface to display process data, processing economics, optimal plant targets, and rigorous process engineering parameters.
- Commission online models and provide training to client’s personnel to use the technology.
- Provide the engineering services and support required to keep the online models working properly, tuned for robustness, matching plant operations, and providing achievable results.
- Analyze client’s process to identify performance degradation and make recommendations to improve process performance.
- Prepare reports for clients that explain the process optimization moves and identifies any process degradation issues.
- Conduct periodic post-audits to demonstrate and quantify value delivered.
Experience
- BS or MS in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 2 years of experience as an optimization engineer, process engineer, process modeling engineer or similar position in natural gas, refining, or chemical process industries (preference given to a midstream background).
- Excellent communication skills – will be required to communicate directly with clients in management, operations and engineering positions.
- Excellent computer skills required with some experience programming with C# or similar.
- Ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams and P&IDs.
- Experience with process simulation or control modeling is a plus.
- Must be detail-oriented, highly self-motivated and have strong analytical/problem solving skills.
- Traveling up to 10% of time is required.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required.

Position Details

Principal Functions
Advise on sales strategy and implement sales plan to deliver results in new client product / solution awareness and new client conversation. This will involve:
- Learning and understanding needs of prospective clients and relating those back to our project and development teams.
- Supporting marketing and communications to educate market base and keep customers aware.
- Creating and implementing tactical sales plan(s) to our target audiences for our three products of eSimOptimizer, eSimGathering, and Real-time Performance Management (RPM).
Job Duties
- Lead the eSimulation sales effort from prospecting to deal development to close of sales; both technical sales support and administrative support will be available to support the sales development work.
- Understand and reliably talk about eSimulation’s midstream technologies and solutions, especially and particularly eSimGathering and eSimOptimizer AND cloud-based performance management for industrial processes, including full remote operations and real-time offsite operations support.
- Work with our marketing team (internal and external) to help to develop messaging and campaigns that provide value to our market and opportunities to grow interest from prospective clients.
- Use company-provided sales reporting tools to manage contacts and report results.
- Attend client meetings, both remote and in person, on a regular basis.
- Travel as needed in support of client development and close of sales.
Experience
-
BS in Chemical, Systems & Control, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or similar degree, with preference given to natural gas, refining or processing industry experience.
- Familiarity in one or more of the following technical areas is preferred: Implementing or selling Real-Time Optimization (RTO) or Advanced Process Control (APC) solutions; NGL operations, or commercial or regulatory experience in oil and gas; Process control plant engineering experience.
- Understands – or is able to learn – the following: (1) How NGL plants operate, (2) How NGL contracts work, (3) Upstream, including fees, keep-whole, equity, POP and POL, (4) Downstream, including product hubs and how they drive optimization benefits, (5) Differences between open- and closed-loop optimization, (6) Familiarity with other industrial improvement applications (AspenPlus, ROMeo, Imubit, etc.).

Commercial Manager, Marketing & Sales

Position Summary
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for three distinct areas with an overarching goal of generating additional sales of ControlSoft’s software products and consulting services.
As the Commercial Manger, you will:
- Manage all commercial activity at a small number of key accounts.
Maintain relationships and grow our business at a small number of national accounts. - Support, manage and expand our sales rep network (which is in its initial stage of development).
Develop, train and support a small network of independent sales representatives. - Manage product marketing for our suite of software products.
Identify enhancements for our existing software products; develop corresponding marketing collateral for our industrial markets including Power Generation, Oil & Gas Processing, Glass Manufacturing, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Food and Beverage, Polymer Production and others.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve annual sales targets established for the assigned global key accounts. Cultivate strong relationships with each account ensuring consistent business volume and identify growth opportunities. Activities include sales strategies, sales plans, contract maintenance, forecasting, proposal generation, quarterly reporting, etc.
- Achieve annual sales targets established for the sales representative channel in the US. The initial focus will be on expanding the existing rep channel network (presently at 1) to a small number (3-4) of US-based representatives and performing sales on-boarding training with these new rep firms. Activities will also include concluding contractual arrangements with the representative, conducting sales training, supporting sales efforts and managing sales reporting.
- Deliver technical presentations about the Company and the relevant products and services. Judiciously use engineering resources in the pursuit of sales.
- Negotiate pricing and contractual terms with potential customers. Adhere to corporate guidelines during such negotiations.
- Ensure that all customer problem reports are addressed promptly and that all parties are urgently addressing each issue.
- Develop proposals, in conjunction with industry managers, in response to customer Requests for Quotations. Deliver proposal to potential customer directly or through the sales representative. Conduct formal proposal reviews. Determine when technical resources are required for proposal reviews.
- Develop sales strategies for all major accounts. All sales strategies should identify decision makers within the potential customer’s organization and the plan for reaching these decision makers.
- Collect and consolidate customer feedback regarding enhancements to our products and services. Obtain competitive information when available. Develop a priority list of future features, capabilities, products, engineered solutions to drive future revenue growth.
- Work closely with industry managers to devise industry-specific marketing campaigns designed to increase short-term sales volume. Involve the Marketing Communications Specialist in the program. Define metrics and monitor the performance of the program. Report on the results.
Education and Qualifications
- BS in Chemical, Systems & Control or Electrical Engineering or higher
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the sales and marketing of process control software and services. This is a highly technical sale’s position and as such a strong technical background is a necessity.
- Familiarity with various sales techniques and pipeline management.
- Must be highly self-motivated and driven for success.
- Must possess strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills. Must be fluent with the use of computers for delivering presentations.

Advanced Control Engineer

Due to ongoing business growth, ControlSoft Inc. has an immediate opening for an Advanced Control Engineer on our On-site Engineering team in South Charleston, West Virginia. The opening is for a full-time position in the area of advanced process control and associated software system development/support. The work performed will be in support of this strategic partner company.

Experience
Selected candidate will be responsible for configuring, implementing, and supporting advanced process control for the facilities of ControlSoft’s strategic partner. Activities include: software configuration, software tool development, process/control troubleshooting, software troubleshooting and project documentation, interfacing with business staff, operating staff, global team and subject matter experts (SMEs), and training of client personnel. In addition, the person would be responsible for development, testing and implementation of advanced process control software per functional specifications developed by the SMEs.
The selected candidate must have the capacity to learn new process control functionality and software, and work in a team environment with internal and external personnel. In addition, the individual must be able to work with minimal supervision on less defined tasks and problems. This person should have or be able to quickly develop a good working knowledge of the process technologies, basic process control, and automation software systems.
The role will include ongoing operations support. Occasional travel to other sites may be required to assist in implementation of new technologies, client training and support, and new facility start-up.
